รายการร้อยแปดดนตรี (Oe-O-Eight Music) เอาใจแฟนๆต่างจังหวัดจัดกิจกรรม “ ร้อยแปดดนตรี ON TOUR” ประเดิมที่แรกภาคเหนือ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ วันเสาร์ที่ 13 ธันวาคมนี้ งานนี้คุณจะได้พบกับกิจกรรม Music Workshop นำทีมโดยอาจารย์ปราชญ์ อรุณรังษี และสุดยอดฝีมือกูรูทางดนตรีด้านต่างๆ เช่น พี่ป๊อบ The Sun (สุดยอดมือกีต้าร์), พี่ต่อ Silly Fools (สุดยอดมือกลอง) และครูบิ๊ก (สุดยอด Voice Trainer) ที่จะมาให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับเส้นทางสู่นักดนตรีมืออาชีพ อาทิ เทคนิคการแต่งเพลง เทคนิคการเล่นดนตรี

นอกจากนั้นแล้ว ชาวเชียงใหม่จะได้ร่วมชม และให้กำลังใจสุดยอดโชว์ Open Stage จากตัวแทนภาคเหนือ และปิดท้ายกิจกรรมด้วยสุดยอดความมันส์กับ Mini Concert จากวง Rock Dream Team (ผู้ชนะการประกวดวง Rock ชั้นเซียนจากรายการร้อยแปดดนตรี) พร้อมศิลปินรับเชิญ โดยมีรายละเอียดของงานดังนี้

It's often said that history repeats itself but in the instance of making music, a reunion of two performers will not necessarily bring about the sounds of their collective past. Grammy-winning saxophonist/composer Joe Lovano and the equally lauded guitarist/composer John Scofield are preparing another turn together in the public eye. One of the most popular groups of the early 1990's, the satisfying musical coalition of Joe Lovano and John Scofield has kept their mutual fans waiting almost 20 years for this next merger. Despite three decades of close friendship, these stellar musicians have (with the exception of a brief pairing in the powerhouse group ScoLoHoFo with bassist Dave Holland and drummer Al Foster) spent little time performing together in public. Every audience on their 2008 tour will enjoy the next level in their partnership - the sum of their collective years of experience, creativity and technique presented with intensity, skill and fun.

JOE LOVANO was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952, and began playing sax as a child. Known for both small and large group ensembles, Lovano stands out as one of the most successful saxophonists in Jazz today. He has distinguished himself for some three decades as a prescient and pathfinding force in the arena of creative music. He has earned praise, not just for his compelling saxophone tone and improvisational ability but also for his forward- thinking presentation of new musical ideas and ensemble concepts. From his recent work with Gunther Schuller, Streams of Expression, to his work as Gary Burton Chair of Jazz Performance at Berklee College of Music, the Cleveland native continually challenges and pushes conceptual and thematic choices in his quest for new modes of artistic expression and new definitions of the jazz idiom. He has released 18 celebrated albums on the Blue Note label, including 2007's Grammy-nominated Kids, a duet recording with iconic pianist Hank Jones. Joe is the husband of singer Judi Silvano.

Born in Ohio in 1951, JOHN SCOFIELD is considered one of the "big three" of current jazz guitarists - along with Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. His influence began in the late 70's and is going strong today. Possessor of a distinctive sound and stylistic diversity, Scofield is a masterful jazz improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between post-bop, funk edged jazz, and R & B. He has prominently led his own groups in the international Jazz scene, recorded over 35 albums as a leader (many already classics) and collaborated with contemporary favorites and jazz legends like Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Eddie Harris, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Bill Frisell, Brad Mehldau, Mavis Staples, Government Mule, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Dave Holland and Phil Lesh to name only a few. Throughout his career Scofield has punctuated his traditional jazz offerings with funk-oriented electric music. All along, the guitarist has kept an open musical mind and a variety of audiences in the jazz, rock and classical realms. Touring the world approximately 200 days per year with his own groups, he is an Adjunct Professor of Music at New York University, a husband and father of two.

A flexible and creative drummer, MATT WILSON has been a fixture on the east coast jazz scene for over twenty years. He was born in September of 1964 and raised in the prairie town of Knoxville, Illinois. His sheer musicality has attracted a range of bandleaders to Wilson. Since arriving in New York City, Matt has become one of the most sought after drummers, working with a wide variety of great musicians including Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, Dewey Redman, Cecil McBee, Sheila Jordan, Lee Konitz, and too many more to mention. His own projects as a leader have met with wide critical acclaim. Wilson is married to a violinist and the father of four.

New Zealand native MATT PENMAN was born in November 1974 and relocated to New York City in 1995. Classically and jazz trained, Matt has spent the last several years traveling the world like a minstrel with his double bass. He has played with San Francisco Jazz Collective, John Scofield, Kenny Werner, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Nneena Freelon, Kurt Rosenwinkel, David Berkman, Guillermo Klein, Mika Pohjola, Peter Bernstein and Sam Yahel amongst others. A rising star in the international jazz realm, Penman is in constant demand as a sideman and also developing his reputation as a leader.

Joe Robinson เริ่มเล่นกีตาร์ตั้งแต่อายุ 10 ปี และ 1 ปีต่อมาเขาก็เริ่มเล่นในระดับมืออาชีพ เริ่มแรกเขาได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจาก Eric Clapton . Carlos Santana , และนักดนตรีคนอื่นในยุคนั้น ต่อมาเขาเริ่มสนใจในการเล่นกีตาร์แจ๊ซ โดยเรียนรู้เองจาก Internet เทคนิคการเล่นของ Joe นั้นได้รับความสนใจจากมือกีตาร์ชั้นนำมากมายโดยเฉพาะ Tommy Emmanuel และ Phil Emmanuel ถึงขนาดที่ Phil กล่าวถึง Joe ไว้ว่า " Joe ในอายุประมาณ 21 ปีจะต้องเป็นมือกีตาร์ที่ยอดเยี่ยมที่สุดในออสเตรเลียอย่างแน่นอน"

Joe Robinson began playing the guitar at the age of ten and one year later began playing professionally. It soon became obvious to many that a musical prodigy was in their midst. Initially insprired by Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and other players of that era, Joe then became interested in jazz guitar, teaching himself from the Internet. ผุดค่าย “ชิก กะ ชิก” บ้านใหม่ของคอเพลง “เร้กเก้ สกา”

ขึ้นขวบปีที่ 3 แล้วสำหรับ ค่ายสนามหลวง ค่ายเพลงที่เปิดโอกาสให้กับศิลปินทุกแนวเพลง ล่าสุดเพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมฉลอง ป๋าเต็ด-ยุทธนา บุญอ้อม เลยสั่งเปิดค่ายน้องใหม่เอาใจคอเพลง เร้กเก้-สกา โดยเฉพาะ ในชื่อค่าย “Chick-Ka-Chick”(ชิก-กะ-ชิก) เพื่อให้เป็นที่ชุมนุมของเหล่าบรรดาศิลปิน เร้กเก้-สกา ทั่วฟ้าเมืองไทย โดยประเดิมด้วยสีสันสดใสจากเสียงเพลงของ 4 วงดนตรีน้องใหม่หัวใจเดียวกัน ทั้ง ซุปเปอร์ กลาสเซ็ส สกา อองซอมเบิ้ล(Super Glasses Ska Ensemble) , ทองแดง(Gold Red) , JoFax(โจ๋แฟกซ์) , Madagascar 11 Circle(มาดากัสการ์ วันวัน เซอร์เคิล) กับเพลงเปิดตัวจังหวะสนุก ๆ 3 เพลงรวด โดย ป๋าเต็ด เล่าที่มาของโปรเจกต์มหาสนุกนี้ให้ฟังว่า

“เริ่มจากผมเห็นว่าในช่วง 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมาดนตรี เร้กเก้สกา ใกล้ตัวเรามาก โตเร็ว เข้ากับคนไทยได้อย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ เพลงโฆษณาก็มีให้ได้ยินฮิตไปทั่วบ้านทั่วเมือง แฟชั่นก็มีให้เห็นเยอะ ผับแนวเร้กเก้สกาก็มีพื้นที่ของมันชัดเจนแล้วเพิ่มมากขึ้นทั้งกรุงเทพฯและต่างจังหวัด และที่สำคัญมีวงดนตรีรุ่นใหม่ที่สนใจเพลงแนวนี้มาเสนองานที่ ค่ายสนามหลวง เยอะมาก ซึ่งแต่ละวงมีคาแรคเตอร์เฉพาะตัวที่โดดเด่นและมีฝีมือดี ๆ ทั้งนั้น จึงมองว่าต้องหันมาเอาจริงเอาจังกับร่องนี้ซักที เลยเปิดค่าย “ชิก กะ ชิก” (Chick Ka Chick) ขึ้นมา ชื่อนี้ก็มาจากเสียงที่เรามักจะได้ยินในเพลงแบบเร้กเก้สกาที่นักร้องเค้าชอบทำเสียง ชิกกะชิก ชิกกะชิก เวลาเล่นสดก็เลยเอาคำนี้มาตั้งเป็นชื่อค่าย จุดประสงค์ของค่ายนี้ก็ คือ อยากให้เป็นที่รวมตัวของคนหัวใจเดียวกัน ได้มาทำงานร่วมกัน มีที่เผยแพร่งาน มีที่แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นหรืออะไรก็ตามที่จะช่วยให้ดนตรีเร้กเก้สกามันเติบโตขึ้น

อย่างวงดนตรี 4 วงที่เป็นวงเปิดค่าย ชิก กะ ชิก ถึงจะเป็นเร้กเก้สกาเหมือนกันแต่ในรายละเอียดของงานเพลงมันจะไม่เหมือนกัน คือ วงมาดากาสการ์ เราเรียกว่าสกาจีบหญิงเหมือนมีหนุ่มหล่อ 2 คนมานั่งแต่งเพลงจีบหญิง ชิล ชิล อยู่ที่สามแยกปากหวานสักที่นึงแต่วงนี้เป็นมิตรกับสุภาพสตรีนะครับ ส่วนวง โจ๋แฟกซ์ เป็นวงสกาป๊อบจาก ม.ศิลปากร จะมีคาแรคเตอร์ที่ใครเห็นปุ๊บ ก็รู้ปั๊บว่าเรียนที่ไหน จุดเด่นอยู่ที่ลูกบ้าบนเวที วงนี้......

เคยได้รางวัลรองชนะเลิศจากเวที แฟต แบนฯ มาด้วย อีกวงชื่อยาวหน่อย คือ เดอะ ซุปเปอร์ กลาสเซ็ส สกา อองซอมเบิ้ล วงนี้คนเยอะลูกเล่นเลยแยะตามไปด้วย เล่นสดบนเวทีสนุกมากจังหวะเพลงจะออกแนวโจ๊ะ โจ๊ะ สนุกแบบไทย ๆ มีรางวัลชนะเลิศจากเวที สนามหลวง คอนเน็กส์ บาย โนเกีย การันตีฝีมือ ปิดท้ายด้วยวง ทองแดง เป็นวงเร้กเก้สกาที่ติดดิน ตรงไปตรงมา เข้าใจง่ายไทยแท้ แต่จะมีกลิ่นความเป็นร็อคปนอยู่ในตัวเพลงด้วย วงนี้ก็ชนะเลิศจากเวที วันทูคอล เมื่อ 2 ปีก่อน

อัลบั้มแรกใช้ชื่อว่า “ชิก กะ ชิก” ชื่อเดียวกับค่ายเลยครับ แบ่งกันร้องวงละ 2 เพลง(คัฟเวอร์ 1 เพลง,แต่งใหม่ 1 เพลง) และ ร้องร่วมกันอีก 2 เพลง(คัฟเวอร์ 1 เพลง,แต่งใหม่ 1 เพลง) ซึ่งตอนนี้ปล่อยออกมาให้ฟังกัน 3 เพลง คือ เพลงชิก กะ ชิก(ร้องรวม 4 วง) เพลงใจเย็น(วงมาดากาสการ์) และ เพลงน้ำแข็งไส(เดอะ ซุปเปอร์ กลาสเซ็สฯ) ติดตามฟังได้ทุกคลื่นวิทยุนะครับ” ป๋าเต็ด บอก

Chick-Ka-Chick Night Concert Live At Overtone

‘Chick-Ka-Chick’ ชุมชนดนตรีแหล่งใหม่ ที่เป็นน้องใหม่ในเครือสนามหลวง ชุมชนแห่งนี้ได้รวมเอาคนรุ่นใหม่ที่หลงใหลในดนตรีเร้กเก้-สกามาอยู่รวมกัน พวกเขาพร้อมที่จะสร้างงานดนตรี ‘เร้กเก้ และ ‘สกา’สองงานดนตรีที่ไม่เหมือนกัน แต่อยู่ด้วยกันได้ด้วยจุดร่วมเดียวกัน นั่นคือ ปล่อยความสนุกสู่มวลชน และ เป็นเสมือนกระบอกเสียงที่จะบอกเล่าสิ่งที่คนรุ่นใหม่คิดและรู้สึกผ่านบทเพลงหลากหลาย พบกับพวกเขาได้ที่ร้าน Overtone RCA ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 19 ตุลาคม 2551 ตั้งแต่เวลา 20.00 น. เป็นต้นไป

‘Chick-Ka-Chick’ เป็นคำและเสียงสนุก สนุกปากเวลาที่ชาว ‘เร้กเก้-สกา’ ร้องออกมา และคนฟังก็สนุกใจที่ได้ยิน คำๆ นี้นอกจากจะแสดงถึงความครื้นเครง สุขใจที่ได้ปลดปล่อยอารมณ์ความรู้สึกออกมาแล้ว มันยังแฝงไว้ซึ่งสาระภายใต้ความรื่นเริงนั้น เรียกว่าเป็นความบันเทิงขนานแท้ที่จะแทรกเรื่องจริงจังเอาไว้ได้อย่างแนบเนียน

ชาว ‘Chick-Ka-Chick’ เชื่อว่าเร้กเก้-สกาเป็นจังหวะดนตรีที่เข้ากันดีกับจังหวะชีวิตคนไทย มันเป็นวิถีพื้นบ้านที่บ่งบอกถึงความติดดิน-เรียบง่าย แม้ว่าเร้กเก้-สกาจะเดินทางมาไกลจากจาไมกาก็ตาม แต่ ณ วันนี้เมื่อมันมาขึ้นฝั่งที่เมืองไทย และถูกนำเสนอโดยคนรุ่นใหม่ของไทย มันก็จะเกิดความสนุกแบบที่เหมาะเจาะกับคนไทย

‘Chick-Ka-Chick’ เปิดตัวในฐานะศูนย์กลางของคนรุ่นใหม่ที่หลงใหลดนตรี เร้กเก้-สกา ด้วยอัลบั้ม ‘Chick-Ka-Chick’ พร้อมกับแนะนำ 4 วงดนตรี 4 คาแร็คเตอร์ที่มีหัวใจเดียวกัน นั่นคือ วงทองแดง (Gold Red) วงดนตรีที่เดินทางมาจากปักษ์ใต้บ้านเรา พวกเขาจริงจังจริงใจและตรงมาตรงไปด้วยดนตรีเร้กเก้ที่บวกกับเสียงกีตาร์ในแบบร็อคๆ และนำเสนอเรื่องราวในถิ่นฐานบ้านเกิด ด้วยสำเนียงดนตรีและวิธีคิดแบบทองแดงๆ จะสร้างความแตกต่างในกับคนฟังด้วยชีวิตและหัวใจของพวกเขา

 

 

วง Super Glasses Ska Ensemble (ซุปเปอร์ กลาสเซ็ส สกา อ็องซอมเบิล) วงดนตรีเพื่อนพ้องที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศจากโปรเจ็ค Connect Me If You Can ที่มีระดับความพล่านในตัวก่ายกอง ทั้งสมาชิกที่พลุกพล่านถึง 11 ชีวิต และพล่านกันทั้งแนวคิดและการแสดงสด ซึ่งพวกเขาจะปลดปล่อยพลังความสนุกในตัวของคนฟัง คนดูให้พลุ่งพล่านออกมา

 

วง JoFax (โจ๋แฟกซ์) วงดนตรีสกาป๊อบ ที่สมาชิกในวงเสน่หาในดนตรีสกาที่อยากให้มันเข้าถึงคนฟังได้ง่ายๆ ด้วยความเป็นเพลงป๊อบหอมกลิ่นสกา พวกเขามีดีกรีรางวัลรองชนะเลิศของการประกวด Fat Band Rhythm&Horns และมีนักร้องนำ 2 คน ซึ่งคนหนึ่งเป็นนักร้องหญิงเพียงคนเดียวของอัลบั้มนี้
