Franko รวมตัวกันเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2550 โดย Richard Craker, Chris Gilbertson และ Beau Poynts เคยเล่นดนตรีร่วมกันมาแล้วในวง Hawkwood เมื่อสามปีก่อน พวกเขาพบกับ Tommy Bastow โดยบังเอิญจากการเข้ารอบสุดท้ายของ XFM Rockschool 2007 บนเวที Carling Academy ใน Islington นอกจากนี้สมาชิกสามในสี่เคยเรียนที่ The Brit School โรงเรียนเดียวกันกับ Amy Winehouse, The Feeling, Kate Nash, Katie Melua และ Adele.

Meet Franko , a fantastic Alternative Rock band from South London :

FRANKO is a young four piece band who live in South London. They formed in October 2007 although the guitarist, bassist and drummer had all played together in Hawkwood for nearly three years prior to Franko being formed. They were joined by the ex-lead singer of Blackspray – the enigmatic and unique voice of Tommy Bastow. Coincidentally, both Hawkwood and Blackspray were finalists in the 2007 XFM Rockschool and met on stage at the Carling Academy in Islington.

FRANKO have already made their mark on the London music scene and turned the heads of promoters and record company execs at all the majors – they’ve been gigging and recording songs for their debut album with producer Jim Lowe (recent producer for Stereophonics) and future events include further recording, more UK gigs and a set of dates in Bangkok.

• Tommy Bastow is the kid on the British Telecom commercials on TV and has a major role in a new Paramount film (Angus Thongs Full Frontal Snogging) coming out in the summer BUT the band is his passion and focus
• The band has recorded six tracks for their debut album - Jim Lowe has produced the tracks at Metropolis, Townhouse and Hugh Padgham’s studios in London. He also works with Stereophonics, the Manic Street Preachers and The Foo Fighters (live) + mixing Amy MacDonald etc.
